Many memories were created here was Dr. Bird was a young lad whose father, Morton, was a major influece upon his life.  Dr. Bird's father was an inventor relating to the manufacturing of "lasts" for making shoe models.  He was also superb aviator and sailor.  Morton Bird was the first volunteer from Stoughton, MA to serve in WWI.
